Air India Join Forces with Tourism Australia How will it Benefit Indian Visitors?

Air India and Tourism Australia recently signed a three-year contract in a bid to attract more Indian visitors. The airline said in a press release that under the Memorandum of Understanding, both companies will seek opportunities to jointly undertake and implement marketing activities to showcase Australia’s world-class appeal and increase tourism. 

Campbell Wilson, the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and Managing Director of Air India stated that the company is excited to partner with Tourism Australia to facilitate travellers’ experience of the unique offerings this destination has to offer. As the company broadens its network across the globe, it aims to deepen its presence in Australia as well. 

The Managing Director of Tourism Australia, Phillipa Harrison, said that Tourism Australia has seen rapid growth in arrivals from India to Australia in recent years and is keen for arrivals to continue tracking in that direction. Tourism Australia’s three-year partnership contract signing with Air India showcases the company’s commitment to strengthening bonds and exploring new ways to drive Indian travellers towards Australian Holidays. The company looks forward to working closely with Air India to showcase Australia as a holiday destination.

Right now, Air India operates 17 weekly non-stop flights to Australia, increasing travel between both countries. Until August 2024, the airline transported more than 170,000 travellers to Australia, which offers several attractions to tourists. However, this partnership will grow visitor arrivals even more due to the expanding presence in the market.
