India’s Travel Advisory List 6 Countries To Avoid Amid Global Unrest

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued several travel advisories for multiple countries. The reason is pretty clear: global unrest. The ongoing ceasefire, protests, etc., are putting people’s lives in danger. India aims to ensure the safety of Indian citizens currently staying abroad. The travel advisory list of India consists of 6 nations: Libya, the United Kingdom, Israel, Iran, Lebanon, and Bangladesh, where people should avoid travelling. 

Libya

The MEA updated its travel advisory for Libya due to volatile conditions. This new advisory requests that nationals not travel by road to provinces. Residents of India are also advised to stay in touch with the Indian Embassy in Tripoli for updates.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh is experiencing tremendous violence in response to which the Indian government has requested residents to avoid travelling to Bangladesh. Those who are residing Bangladesh are advised to limit their movements and stay in contact with the High Commission of India in Dhaka via tagged contact numbers. 

United Kingdom

The Indian High Commission in London issued an advisory on 6 August in response to the civil disturbances. The advisory advised Indian tourists to follow local news and safety advisories issued by the UK and limit movements. 

Iran

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a travel advisory in April for Iran, which is considered one of the best visa-free countries for Indians. The advisory was issued in response to rising tensions between Iran and Israel. Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, also shared about monitoring the situation in the region.

Lebanon

India issued a travel advisory for Lebanon on 29 July after the devastating rocket attack happened on Golan Heights. The government advised people to restrict travel to Lebanon, and those currently in Lebanon are requested to stay vigilant.

Israel

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a travel advisory for Israel in April in response to the rising tensions between Israel and Iran. The Indian Embassy shared the monitoring of the situation and communicated with Israeli authorities to ensure the safety of Indian nationals.
