Uttarakhand Tourism Launched Pilgrimage to Kailash

Mount Kailash Darshan from Indian Soil New Pilgrimage from Uttarakhand Tourism

Uttarakhand Tourism has introduced a new pilgrimage, “Mount Kailash Darshan from Indian Soil,” to offer a better spiritual journey. This pilgrimage allows devotees to glimpse the divine Mount Kailash from Indian territory at the Old Lipukesh Peak in Pithoragarh district. So now Shiva devotees won’t need to go to Tibet to witness Mount Kailash.

Alongside the spectacular sight of Kailash, this pilgrimage includes visiting other sacred locations, such as Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. Uttarakhand Tourism’s package offers a 4-night/5-day journey in which tourists enjoy helicopter rides from Pitorgarh to Gunji and back. Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) and local homestays provide accommodation, offering a touch of local hospitality.

The first group of devotees embarked on this pilgrimage on October 2 this month and viewed Mount Kailash on October 3. Bhopal residents Neeraj Manohar Lal Chowksey and Mohini Neeraj Chowksey were part of this group. They were overwhelmed by this tour and expressed gratitude to the Government for opening this route.

Devotees can visit the official website of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) or KMVN to learn about available dates, packages, and the booking process. They can also directly contact KMVN and get assistance from staff about booking, travel logistics, and accommodation.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami mentioned that “Mount Kailash Darshan from Indian Soil” showcases the Government’s dedication to social welfare. He congratulated all departments associated with this project and further mentioned that Shiva devotees don’t need to wait for their turn on Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. They can now pay regards to lord Shiva from Indian territory and enjoy a unique Uttarakhand experience
