Thailand, a center of attraction for tourists, has welcomed 35.54 million tourists in 2024, a rise due to relaxed entry rules, and will be planning to welcome 40 million visitors in 2025, so the country has planned to introduce the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) on May 1, 2025, replacing the TM6 form.
According to official sources from Thailand’s tourism sector, there was a rise of 35.54 million international tourists in 2024, which showed a strong increase of up to 26.27% from the previous year. This increase, handled by alleviated entry rules and visa exceptions, has opened the way for a strong target of 40 million tourists in 2025. To manage this growth, Thailand will implement the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) starting May 1, 2025, by replacing The TM6 form (now TDAC) is a document that all foreign visitors must complete when entering Thailand, regardless of their mode of entry (air, land, or sea) Digital cards will now be used for entry, making the process quicker and easier for tourists.
This applies to both visa-exempt travelers and those who need visas without exemptions. Unlike TM6, the TDAC will be compulsory. Travelers have to fill the digital form online through the official portal within 72 hours before arrival. After submission, they will receive confirmation—either digital or printed to show at immigration checkpoints.
Thai authorities say that the new system will make the entry process smooth, cut processing times, and increase border security. Thailand followed global travel trends, reflecting systems like Singapore’s SG Arrival Card and the European Union’s forthcoming ETIAS with no application fees. The TDAC also promises a cost-free step for travelers, with the implication that failure to follow could result in delays or additional screening at the border.
