At Arabian Travel Market, Dubai 2022, India showcased its best tourism plans and products as the Middle East has always been the major market for Indian tourism. The tourism ministry held a conference during this event and introduced the ‘NamasteIndia’ campaign to encourage the foreign visitors to come & explore India during this event. To showcase major tourist destinations, many state governments of India participated in this event. India showcased itself as a holistic destination revolving around core experiences like spirituality, heritage, adventure, culture, yoga, wellness and many more.
At this event, it was highlighted that the major tourist destinations of India are open to international visitors. Indian tourism also focuses on building post-pandemic confidence strategies and Arabian Travel Market, Dubai 2022 event which was held from 9 May to 12 May 2022. It was also highlighted in this event that Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Of India appealed for ‘Chalo India’, urging Indian people to inspire non-Indian friends to visit India every year, and call them ‘Rashtradoot’.
Indian tourism has been promoting different tourism products and their major tourist destinations as well as focusing on film tourism and medical tourism. A major focus has been given to the possibilities of MICE, Film Tourism, Wellness Tourism, Medical Tourism, Luxury Tourism, Wildlife Tourism, and Adventure Tourism. Indian tourism and hospitality are expected to earn $50.9 billion by 2028. And the travel market in India is projected to reach $125 billion by 2027 from an estimated $75 billion in 2015.
Furthermore, some experts highlighted the role of social media in promoting Indian tourism. In which they said ‘could prove the game-changer for the tourism industry. Lots of tourists use social media to look for promotional content like travel. That is why social media plays the role of influencer in engaging large numbers of international tourists.
