AAA- Thanksgiving Holiday Will Block The Airports and Roads

Thanksgiving-Holiday-Can-See-Crowded-Airports-and-Roads

As the Thanksgiving holiday is knocking on the doors, people are planning to travel for their holidays. According to the AAA prediction, 53.4 million people will travel for the Thanksgiving holiday and that will block the airports and roads.

As most of the countries are lifting their traveling restrictions, opening their entertainment sources after the pandemic, more and more people are willing to travel with their families, friends, and colleagues. Considering this, AAA urges travelers to be proactive when making their travel plans.

‘This Thanksgiving, people are ready to get back to their traveling’ said Bevi Powell, Senior Vice President of AAA East Central. ‘With restrictions being lifted and travel being more accessible than in 2020, giving new opportunities to Americans to make new holiday memories with friends and families’, he added.

With 6.4 million more Americans traveling this Thanksgiving holiday coupled with the recent opening of U.S borders to fully vaccinated international travelers, people should prepare for roads and airports to be noticeably more crowded.

Despite rising rates of fuels this year, 90% of people plan to travel by car as their preferred mode of travel. Before heading out, motor vehicle owners should ensure that their vehicles are road-trip ready to avoid the breakdown along the way. AAA expects to rescue more than 4,00,000 Americans on the roadside in case of any mishap.

Keeping the prediction in mind, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released its recommendations for the Thanksgiving holiday, saying the best way to minimize COVID-19 risk is to get vaccinated if you’re eligible. Additionally, AAA urges travelers to follow CDC guidelines before finalizing holiday plans.

As the COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet, people are still prone to risks. The Government is urging people to be safe and protected. If you plan to travel during the holidays, make sure you follow essential safety measures. Also, as the travel restriction remains in the flux, it is essential to know the requirements and recommendations of the travel including vaccination status, etc.

INRIX, in collaboration with AAA, predicts the roads will be jammed and drivers will experience the worst congestion. Major metro areas across the U.S. could see more than double delays.
