Since April 14 1979, the famous wooden roller coaster in the world ‘The beast ’at Kings Island in Ohio tightly holds the record as the largest wooden roller coaster. Currently, it is set to break its own records as it retained the title of the largest wooden roller coaster in the world.

The length of ‘The Beast’ roller coaster will be 7,359 feet but after increasing two feet the length will be 7,361 feet and the ride lasts for 3 minutes 40 seconds with a speed of 40km/h. This roller coaster was opened in 1979 and got the title of the world’s largest roller coaster.

The Vice President and General Manager of Kings Island Mike Koontz said ‘When you look at roller coaster records, they are being beat all the time.’ He also added ‘But there is one record that no park in the world has been able to beat for more than 40 years until now and that’s the record for the longest wooden roller coaster.

The Beast includes a vertical drop of 137 feet and 141 feet and later it drops at an angle of 18 degrees plus it has an underground tunnel that is 125 feet long. There are two more tunnels, including eight banked tunnels and a 540-degree helix tunnel at the end and the speed is 105kmph (64.77 miles per hour).

‘It costs $3.5 million to build from 1977 to 1979 and it would cost more than $20 million for recreation’ said Kings Islands.
According to Kings Island, during the reconstruction of the roller coaster that began in November last year, the first drop was profiled from 45 degrees to 35 degrees. All the citizens expressed their feelings on Twitter and wrote on Twitter ‘I love it. Can’t wait to come on opening day’.
