The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism licensed a total of 1,175 tourist guides by the end of 2024, displaying its commitment to developing a well-trained and professional guide network in the country. Among the licensed guides, English is the most common language spoken. But, many guides also speak other languages, like French, Italian, German, Spanish, etc., catering to a wider range of international tourists.
The ministry has also licensed 101 Omani female guides, taking a big step toward gender equality. This move is a part of the ministry’s bigger goal to connect more women with the tourism industry.
