People are afraid that the growing tension between Israel and Lebanon might turn into a full-scale war between both regions. As a result, citizens of both sides are evacuating as soon as possible to avoid possible disasters and damage.
Considering the situation, India and the United States, which are among green list countries have issued strong travel advisories for their citizens. Both nations have requested their citizens to reconsider their travel plans to Lebanon. Russia has also advised its residents to avoid travelling to Lebanon until the situation stabilises.
The Indian Embassy in Lebanon advised Indian residents to stay alert and stay in touch with it. It said, “In view of the current situation in Lebanon, all Indian nationals in Lebanon are advised to exercise caution and remain in contact with the Embassy of India in Beirut through our Email Address: cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or through emergency helpline number +961-76860128.”

Since 2019, Lebnan has been facing a financial crisis that has worsened over time. Amid the economic crises, security situations have become precarious between Israel and Lebanon. It’s a result of Hamas’s attack on Israel that took place on 7 October 2023 and the following military campaigns by Israel in Gaza. In return, Iran’s militant group Hezbollah has been launching missiles, mortars, and drones from the Israel side.
