According to the reports, monsoon tourism across the country is increasing, and people are taking an interest in spending holidays amid nature. India has a list of preferred destinations for monsoon.

Among the top preferences, Uttarakhand is one of the top choices for travellers, followed by Goa, Kerala and Maharashtra. Due to the famous pilgrimage and leisure destination, the state is opted by nearly 18% of travellers, while destination cities like Lonavala (16%), Munnar (11%), Shillong (11%), and Coorg (8%) are other top choices for travellers.

Short trips are also popular in India due to the flexible remote and hybrid work policies of corporations. Almost 84% of the travellers prefer booking their travel plans near the travel date.

Discussing monsoon tourism Sheerang Godbole, SVP – Products & Chief Service Officer, OYO, said, “We are observing more and more consumer demand to travel throughout the year, for shorter trips. This monsoon, as per our research, people are looking forward to travelling to scenic destinations and making the most of the rains closer to nature”.

People prefer travelling to hill stations during monsoon season because they want to feel the freshness of nature and experience the beautiful sightseeings they have dreamed of.
